$10 v $150 Milanese Loop Apple Watch Band | Any good?
More Apple news: Is it really worth splashing out $150 on Apple’s own Milanese loop? In this video, I’m comparing that very band to a …

November 15, 2019 at 7:45 pmI have 10x bands (Sport band, Nike sport band, sport loop) with 4x of them being genuine and the rest fakes. The durability, tollerances, colour and build quality on the fakes are all off, some by more than others, but the price point is good. At the right price the fakes are worth it BUT they arent the same no matter what people say.

November 15, 2019 at 7:45 pmI actually thought the shinier one was the cheaper knock off..

November 15, 2019 at 7:45 pmI saw every difference and picked up on it quite quickly. It may be because I own one. The OEM Milanese Loop is exceptionally well made and will last. Get it and keep it when you upgrade watches later on.

November 15, 2019 at 7:45 pmDoes anyone have the link for the $10 band?

November 15, 2019 at 7:45 pmMiddle ground is always better. I didn’t go with the cheap knock off nor did I buy a brand new original. After some time, I landed an original Apple Milanese space black band (42mm) for 40 bucks. Had “Assembled in China” on one side, and 42mm etched the other side. Legit deal. That way I don’t have to deal with the top complaints about knockoffs. Wobbly connects or just wearing down quicker. And if you just buy Apple originals used, you’re in full belief you’re going to get quality and durability, which almost always happens with Apple.

November 15, 2019 at 7:45 pmI'm sure the original Apple bands are made with better quality overall but there are several things to consider here,
The advantages of the original ones: 1- They last longer because of the build quality which is a bit better but can't be seen by the naked eye let's just leave it at that. I guess that's it since the wiggly effect is not present in all of the fake ones apparently.
The advantages of the fake ones: 1- On average let's say you could get about 15 bands instead of just one Apple band and the more the better, right? 2- Fashion! You can wear different ones for different events like for a formal meeting, party, gym, etc… 3- The fake ones come with massive variety so they are not just about replicating the original ones they come in all shapes and colors. 4- You won't get bored of the same band unless you plan on buying many original ones which is just unreasonable. 5- Longevity is an advantage of the original one but let's be honest here even the watch itself could be damaged so nothing is eternal and when you damage yours not by wearability but probably by a forceful contact event then having 15 ones would be better and you wouldn't feel as bad either.
If you don't care about fashion or multiple bands at all and you're all about usability then why buy a band in the first place since the watch comes with an original band so just continue to use it.

November 15, 2019 at 7:45 pmMost of people who buy $150 branded band is for their stainless steel watch. And most of people choosing $10 Chinese replica are for their cheap aluminum watch… (and pretend they have the real one)
it will be really wired for people spending big money on stainless steel or edition watch with $10 band

November 15, 2019 at 7:45 pmMy cheap band snagged my clothes and pulled threads. The Apple band is smooth and doesn’t snag.

November 15, 2019 at 7:45 pmEveryone seems to talk about how it's going to look in 6-9 months, but most people that use Apple products rarely have the same accessories for that long, other than maybe headphones. I'm not gonna spend $150 on a band that I might want to change out in about 3-4 months. Everyone's style changes as time moves forward, so it's really not a sound investment. You have the money kudos to you, but even having that kind of money, I can't spend that much on something I know for a fact I won't want for that long.

November 15, 2019 at 7:45 pmMy cheaper one has lost a little of it's sheen over the last nine months, but I can buy a whole bunch of new ones, and still not come close to Apple's price. The inexpensive ones are very nice bands.

November 15, 2019 at 7:45 pmBut how is the long term use? I’ve bought two cheap amazon bands and about to buy a third because of discoloration and scratches.
RPRISM
November 15, 2019 at 7:45 pmMy view on that is you spend hundreds on a watch so why go spend $10 on a band? And also I think that buying something from a brand that copied Apple you’re just giving them money for an idea that isn’t even theirs and put little to no work ethic into
